Aluminum Fin-Iron Sleeve Cylinders

Our aluminum fin-iron sleeve cylinders are now available in many bore sizes and cylinder head configurations to suit most Porsche 6-cyl. air-cooled competition engine requirements. These beautifully finished cylinders are CNC machined in-house from billet aluminum and feature additional fins and fin surface area to provide the added cooling capacity desired for all racing applications. The iron sleeves provide enhanced performance by maintaining a more rigid and consistent bore shape, thus improving ring seal and reducing "blow-by". These cylinders are now available outright without any core exchange requirements.

Our cylinder line includes bore sizes ranging from 80.0 to 102.0mm. Should you have special requirements, please call for assistance. We can manufacture custom cylinders upon request.

Porsche 911 Twin-Plug Distributors

Our new 12-Pin, Twin-Plug Distributors for Porsche 911 based engines are now offered in two configurations. One contains internal ignition triggering with an adjustable (+28 degrees) advance curve while the other is designed specifically for crank-triggered ignition systems. All distributor housings are one-piece; CNC machined from billet aluminum and incorporate ball bearings, bronze bushings and internal shaft seals. Distributors are available in both small and large diameter housings for use in early and late model engine cases. These new distributors are supported with an array of auxiliary components to complete and enhance your installation. We anticipate the introduction of additional items in this section during the next few months.

Valve Train - Springs - Retainers

JB Racing has developed performance valve springs and steel valve spring retainers necessary to maintain critical valve train integrity in high revving Porsche 6 cylinder air-cooled engines. We use these super-strong steel retainers in all or our endurance racing engines for their reliability. These retainers are custom designed for use with OEM 7° valve stem locks and our Dual Valve Springs. All Retainers and Spring Cups are machined with generous radii in the appropriate locations for additional strength and are heat treated for strength and durability.

Our Dual Valve Springs are designed to be installed using JBR Steel Retainers and Valve Spring Cups. Springs are supplied already detailed and prepped for installation. These springs are rated as follows: 95 lbs/seat pressure at an installed height of 1.600" and provide 280 lbs./open pressure at .500" lift.

  • JBR spring cups and valve springs may be installed on OEM cylinder heads without any modifications. OEM valve spring shims and valve seals may also be used.
  • Valve Springs require use of JBR Spring Cups PN 131-050-12. Springs will not fit in the OEM spring cups.

Transmission

This custom designed & manufactured billet aluminum bearing plate replaces the weak OEM Porsche cast intermediate bearing plate used in the 901 / 911 / 914 transmissions. The stock bearing plate has a tendency to deform under high horsepower loads which often leads to transmission failure.
