Lightweight Aluminum Flywheels

JB Racing, Inc. is the Original Designer and Manufacturer of the BMW E36 lightweight aluminum flywheel. We have manufactured and supplied high quality aluminum flywheels to many of the top BMW tuners in the U.S. for over 25 years and our flywheel products are recognized for their high-quality and workmanship in markets around the world. We offer stock clutch-type replacement and ULTRA-LITE racing/competition-only flywheels for Audi, BMW and Porsche vehicles. Our offerings for BMW's represent the most comprehensive listing available in the market and we continue to expand our line to include the latest performance models such as the Z4, new 1-Series and E90/E91/E92/E93 3-Series with N52 6-cyl. engines.

JBR lightweight aluminum flywheels are engineered to improve vehicle performance by reducing both static weight and more importantly, the Moment of Inertia (MOI) characteristics of the OEM flywheel. By eliminating high percentages of parasitic weight and controlling its relative location, the engine is “freed-up” allowing it to “rev” much quicker while delivering more of the available engine power to the drive wheels which increases the acceleration rate and overall vehicle performance.

Stock Clutch Flywheels

Our stock clutch type flywheels are designed to replace OEM single or dual-mass flywheels utilizing all stock OEM and aftermarket direct replacement clutch, pressure plate assembly, and throw-out bearing components for the specified model. Unlike other lightweight aluminum flywheel manufacturers who require the user to install their flywheel with a clutch package from another model, mixing and/or matching of components from other applications are not necessary with JBR flywheels. Selected applications are offered with performance clutch components to complete and enhance your installation results. Again, unlike some competitors who sublet the manufacture of their flywheels to outside sources, ALL JB Racing flywheels are manufactured in-house to our exacting standards on MAZAK CNC machinery using the highest quality materials available. This process allows us to maintain a high standard of quality control which ensures delivery of the highest quality product to our customers.

All JBR flywheels are supplied complete with hardened steel friction surfaces, ignition triggers (where applicable), zero-balanced, and are packaged with a hardened steel bolt-ring kit containing premium installation hardware and instructions. All hardware kit materials supplied must be used for proper installation. Flywheels are normally serviceable and can be re-built should they be subjected to abnormal wear, abuse, or otherwise damaged during use. (see Flywheel Rebuilding Service below)

ULTRA-LITE Flywheels and Clutch Kits

Our ULTRA-LITE racing/competition lightweight flywheels have been engineered to produce a very low MOI to achieve the ultimate performance from your "ultra-high performance" competition vehicle. These flywheels are designed with maximum performance as the primary objective. They are extremely lightweight and typically utilize small diameter, single or multi-disc clutches suitable for off-road racing and competition.

JBR ULTRA-LITE flywheels are available in 114mm (4.50”), 140mm (5.50”), 184mm (7.25”), and 200mm (7.875”) clutch diameters and are offered as flywheel only or as complete flywheel/clutch kits for users who prefer a custom pre-engineered package. These special purpose flywheel/clutch combinations are NOT SUITABLE for street driven vehicles.

Custom Flywheels

We maintain close working relationships with many amateur as well as professional racers and teams which allows us to identify and develop new performance products which are truly “race proven”. Over the years, we have build many custom racing lightweight aluminum flywheels for a wide variety of competition vehicles including Audi, BMW, Datsun/Nissan, Honda, Toyota, and Porsche. Our computerized design and CNC machining capabilities may be called upon to design and manufacture a custom flywheel to meet your specific application requirements. Flywheel Rebuilding Service

All JB Racing aluminum flywheels are serviceable and we offer repair/rebuilding services to allow you to maintain your flywheel in serviceable condition. Should your JBR aluminum flywheel become damaged or worn, we recommend it be returned to us for evaluation and/or repair as necessary. Normal service turn-around time is approximately 24-48 hours.
